Hi everyone! Hope you had a fantastic October! The year is just flying by! Thought I'd pop in and share a few more creations with you. :)

First up...a layout:

On this layout I used one of the Deputy Star pieces. I left it bare, only adding a couple gems on top of it, and layered it behind the photos.

Next, a card:

This uses the smallest of the Nesting Heart pieces and one of the fabulous Potty People. Each of them are covered in paint.

Up next, a layout:

This layout uses a window tab piece. I just left it bare. :)

And finally, here is one last layout:

On this layout, I used one of the Biplane pieces and one of the Window Tabs again. That plane is sprayed with Glimmer Mist.

Stretch your Chipboard!

Hi everyone!!! Happy World Card Making Day!!!! :)

Today I am sharing some cards with you as well as some ideas on how to stretch your chipboard and get more use out of them.

Here's a simple card I made using the Nesting Circles.

I first glued them on paper and then cut them into two pieces. I made a rainbow for my card. Then I used to remaining pieces to make this card:

I also used the bird on the above card.

Another idea is this...

For the above card I used the Owl Hang Around piece and sprayed it with some Glimmer Mist. Before spraying it, I put a piece of cardstock behind it. Then I used that cardstock for this card:

And added some leaves to it.

Hi all! Just poppin' in once again to share my latest creations with you. :)

First up...a layout:

The pieces I used are the Antique Mirror piece and the Scroll Cara. I just added a bit of white paint to them.

The top card uses part of the Nesting Heart. The bottom card uses one of the Potty People pieces.

Hi people! Just thought I'd pop in and share my latest LO's where I've used Magistical chipboard!

Here I have used Tim Holtz crackle paint on the gorgeous wings.

On this LO, I have left the fleur de circle naked, using it as a photo mat.

And on this LO, I've altered the rock star banner slightly, and sprayed it with green glimmermist.

I just love working with Magistical chipboard, as I'm sure you do too!!

Hi everyone! Thought I'd share a few more layouts with you guys. :)

This first layout is a two page layout, which I don't do very often...

The chipboard pieces used are called Out On A Limb and Antique Sign. Here are some close up's:

And then here is a fun winter layout...

I used two of the Snow Flurries pieces, and one of the Instant Frames. That bottom snowflake is sprayed with Glimmer Mist and then covered with a crackle technique. The same could be said of the chipboard frame. The top snowflake is sprayed with white Glimmer Mist.

Here are the close up's:

And then finally, here is a real simple layout, using the Butterfly Swirl piece:

I just left it bare, adding a few gems in the middle of the butterfly. I love leaving my chipboard bare or "naked". You'll notice that I did that on the first layout too.

Just Poppin' In...

to share some recent projects! :) The blog's a bit slow lately and it needs some love.

So here's a layout that I just finished yesterday:

It uses the Out on a Limb Frame piece. I simply sprayed it with ink and added it around my photo. Then I threw in some stitches just for fun. :)

And then there was this layout too....

It uses one of my favorite pieces ever, the Fence! I painted it yellow and then layered my title and several flowers on and around it.

Scrapbot Fun!

I love these adorable "Scrapbots" from Magistical! It seemed to work perfectly with the Fancy Pants pp and embellies. I painted the little dude, added some blue gems for eyes and gave him a belt with some coordinating twine.

This is my middle grandson. He had to draw a picture of himself for school a couple of years ago. I love how he made his hair red (which it is) and even added his glasses. What a fun memory!!

Hi my crafty friends. This is your guest designer for May, Chas. I am 38 years old. I have been married for 11 years. Most people find it exciting that I met my husband at work and we still work together. We have a 10 year old smarty pants daughter. We have alot of fun together. Don't forget about the four lizards that are members of our family.

What inspires you? I don't have just one thing that inspires me. I like to look at other peoples layouts and if I see something that really catches my eye, I usually try to incorporate into my layouts somehow.

Do you work outside the home? Yes, I work at a wholesale perennial nursery. I've been at this company for the last 17 years. I really enjoy working with plants everyday but my allergies don't.

How long have you been scrapping? 10 years ago I went to a Creative Memories home party. This was the first time that I had done any kind of paper crafts. One layout and I was hooked. My husband wishes I never went to that party because we would be thousands of dollars richer.

What is your dream job? My husband would love to have a garden center and I want a scrapbooking store( of course). That would be anybody dream job to work with beautiful flowers all day long and then get the glitter out.

Do you like chocolate? My chocolate has to be cold and have nuts or something in it. My favorite is Reese's peanut butter cups.

Tell us about a special childhood memory. The best childhood memory has to every Friday night. My parents and I would go to my grand mom's house for the evening. We would be in this 12 foot wide house with my other three aunts and two cousins. The adults would watch Dallas and my cousins and I would go to their house and watch Dukes of Hazzard. When the night was over, my grand mom would give me a dollar. I thought it was the best gift in the world and I remember I wanted to save my dollars and buy myself a car when I got older.

Favorite MM chipboard piece? My favorite piece has to be the heart tattoo. It reminds me of one of my own tattoos.

Favorite color to scrap with? I'm a cool color person so I love to scrap with blues, purples, and greens.

What is your most favorite supply and why? Every weeks my favorite supply changes. Right now it is Twinkings H2O from Luminarte. It is a water color paint with mica in it. I enjoy painting naked chipboard with these vibrate colors. Gives the chipboard a lot of personality.

What is the one technique you love the most? That has to be inking. I think a little black ink around my paper gives the layout a lot of dimension.

Celebrate Mom!

I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all the mothers out there a very, very, happy Mother's Day! I know it's almost a week early but I won't be posting again until after Mother's Day.

The "job" of being a mother is truly one of the most challenging, yet rewarding "jobs" I've ever had. I am so honored and blessed to have wonderful children. That saying "once a mom, always a mom" is so true. Even though my children are grown up, I still worry about them and want the very best for them.

So to all you mothers and grandmothers, thank you for all your sacrifices and loving efforts in raising your children! There is no class in school to teach you how to be a mother....it's all pretty much instinct and example. Here's to a job well done! :)

The beautiful lady in this layout is my wonderful, gentle, and sweet mother. She is holding me and I cherish this photo! Thanks Mom, for everything you did and continue to do for me! Happy Mother's Day!!

(The dainty chipboard piece is called the Dainty Damask and I just inked it using a rose coral cat-eye ink. I was thrilled with the color match!! The pp is MME.)

Let's rock this Monday!

Hi All! I hope you had a very blessed Easter!!

Let's get this week started with some rock-n-roll!! I used the very hip Paper Trunk pp (Rockability!) for this mini. Added some bling from Prima and Michaels and I had the start of a rockin' mini album. Oh, btw, I used Helmar Zap-Dots to pop up the little cluster in the top left corner.

My base was the Magistical Memories Star Book (minus the very back page) and I just painted the chipboard black. Super easy and fun for a mini!!

Hello All! Happy Easter to you!! However you celebrate this holiday, I wish you a wonderful weekend filled with love!
Today i have a card to share with you using the beautiful chipboard piece called Heart border designed by Amy Teets. It works so beautifully on this card!
I inked this piece with a dark brown ink and while the ink was wet, I applied a generous amount of Ranger Distress Embossing powder in "Walnut Stain" and heated it with a heat gun! I love the effect it gives. It looks almost black in the photo here, but it is in deed a dark brown.
Supplies: Kaiser Craft Patterned paper, Spellbinders die templates, Recollections pearls, Ranger distress powder and ink, My Stamp Box Stamp, Clear Snap Color Box ink, Magistical Memories chipboard
The sentiment stamp on here is from MyStampBOX. Their stamp sentiments are wonderful for cards!
I used Helmar Quickfix Adhesive runner to hold the card together, and some of their 1/2 inch Zap dots to give a little bit of lift to the center oval.

A Little Wedding Wonder

I was blessed to be at the wedding of my step son this past weekend. And I couldn't wait to get home and get started on a page of the wonderful couple. I have been wanting to use this Butterfly Swirl for a while now. I covered it with Smooch Spritz in Gold and Silver.

I cut several strips of paper from the Echo Park For the Record line and also used Bella Blvd Sprinkles and Lace Banana paper. Added some Prima and buttons and I have my first wedding layout. I am simply in love with this butterfly swirl.

Nostalgic Monday

I ran across this photo of myself and when I saw the October Afternoon pp I knew that line would be perfect for this photo. I'm not sure how old I was but I'm guessing around 3(ish). I used the Circle Solid Border chippie and embellished it with punched scalloped circles and a few flowers. I angled it just a bit to give it some interest.

Greeting Cards - Magistical Memories Style

Hi, this is Esther with my first blog post ever - here or anywhere else! I love using chipboard on almost all of my projects, but I especially like how it adds dimension to my cards. The first card that I made for today's post, I used the "Ornamental Corner", and I left the chippie naked. It really didn't need anything added - it's beautiful just the way it is.

For the second card, I played with the chipboard using a technique the people at my LSS showed me. First I coloured the dragonfly with deep colours using my Staedtler markers. Then I traced the dragonfly onto a "Be Creative Tape Sheet" of double-sided adhesive. After carefully cutting the adhesive to fit, I adhered it to the coloured side of the chipboard. Then I covered it with Crystal Glitter Ritz Transparent Micro Fine Glitter. I LOVE the effect as it shimmers, but shows the colours I used underneath.

Flock and Glitter

Hello everyone! Tina here! It feels like it's been a while since I had a project to share with you!!

Today I have a LO to share with you.
Have you ever created a page but just didn't get it finished and put it away, only to find it MONTHS later? That's what happened to me! This page was started a long time ago! While going thru some older papers I stumbled across it today! PERFECT for the chipboard I wanted to use! Love when things like that happen!

SHARING WITH MOMMY

Supplies:Momenta Patterned paper, alpha's and cardstock, Helmar Premium Craft Glue, Gemstone glue and V2 Vellum Adhesive, Clearsnap glitter, Doodlebug alpha (white), button, Spellbinders circle die templates

For my chipboard FLOWER SWIRL , I used some of the Clearsnaps white glitter. I applied some Helmar Gemstone glue to the swirls and sprinkled with glitter. Then I applied the Gemstone glue to the floral part and applied some flock. Perfectly subtle for this page! Just what i was looking for!
So my mistake turned out to be a good one!

Spring has sprung at my house and what better way to celcbrate than making a birdie card? I just love these little Love Birds ! I used a paint dabber and painted him blue and then sprinkled with glitter, very easy! The frame is Here . I covered it with Patterned paper and sanded the edges :-)

Flower Power

Hello and happy Monday! I'm bringing you some flower power today in celebration of spring!! My goodness we had a gorgeous day on Sunday! I think it made it all the way up to 85 degrees...woohoooo!! Maybe spring has actually arrived and is here to stay??!! I sure hope so :)

I fell in love with this new line from Crate Paper and new the exact photo I wanted to scrap the minute I saw it. It's of my little granddaughter, Aubrey, taken several years ago. I tied a wide ribbon to the small Bread Tie chippie (Magistical Memories, of course) and inked it slightly to make it similar in color to the brown pp. These bread ties are so versatile. I've seen them used for journaling and title background...or just a simple initial like I've used here.

Scalloped border

On the LO below, I have again used a border, this time it's the scalloped border. I just sprayed it with pearl glimmermist, and I was done. It looks better IRL of course, but hopefully you can see on my close up that it's shimmering nicely! (And yes - I still love banners!!)

Kelsey Senior Shoot

Happy Friday!

As I shot my nephew's senior pictures last week, and answered an email this week, accepting a job to do another senior shoot later this month, I was reminded of an idea I had last fall after doing several senior sessions.
My idea? To create a special album {for myself} and create a page or 2 using favorite pics from each senior session I shoot. I love the idea of looking through this album of my 2 worlds coming together: creating scrapbook pages and photography.

This is the first page I've created for this special album I'm making. Kelsey happens to be my daughter in law's sister, so I consider her family. The shoot was a blast!

I used the Scallop Lace Border and 1 of the Scallop Circles on my page. I cut the Scallop Lace Border into 2 pieces to fit into the spots I wanted to place them on my page. I also cut the Scallop Circle in half. I 'filled in' the holes in the Scallop Border with different pattern papers ... I think is one of my new favorite things to do with scallop pieces.

Danies First Kiss

Good Thursday morning! For my layout this week I wanted to share with you Danie and her mom. This was thier first kiss at the hospital. I was so excited to be able to catch some of the moments that I have and love being able to put an album together for little Danie. for this layout I used Bo Bunny Ad Lib paper. I cut out the center so that I could just use the blue frame. the added it to Little Yellow Bicycle Etiquettes. From there it was just a matter of layering all the elements.

I used the Magistical Memories Victoria Splendor and then layered it up with flowers, Bo Bunny embellishments and some bling. For the letters, I used 7 gypsie and then spritzed them with some Smooch Gold.

Hi, I'm Esther - an incredibly blessed 36 year old woman. I'm surrounded daily with people I love and people who love me back. I have been married to my husband for almost 9 years, and we have three munchkins who provide the majority of the subject matter for my scrapbooking! We love to do things outside - the rest of the family because they think it's fun, and me because natural light means great photos. Our faith plays a big part in our lives and we know that all our blessings have been given to us by God and are grateful for them.

What inspires you?

I find myself inspired by my children - things they say and do; by music I listen to; verses I read in the Bible; challenges I find on-line ... I have more inspiration than I have time! :)

Do you work outside the home?

I LOVE staying at home with my children - they are 6, 4.5 (that 'half' is important to her), and 3. I ran an office before having the kids and wasn't half as busy as I am now.

How long have you been scrapping?

I made my first scrapbook in 2001 after a trip to Scotland with my sister. All I used was a scrapbook, photo corners, double-sided adhesive. and a gel pen. How times have changed ... but I still love that book!

What is your dream job?

My dream job would be to research which beach is the best one for sitting and reading while listening to the waves. I would conduct my research in the Carribean, Hawaii, and the Mediterrainian in the winter and in Eastern Canada in the summer. (If I'm going to dream, it's going to be a good one!)

Do you like chocolate?

I love chocolate, but it has to be good chocolate ... I'd rather have cherry twizzlers than cheap chocolate!

Tell us about a special childhood memory.

I grew up on Prince Edward Island, and my favourite memories are of long summer evenings spent walking as a family along the old dirt road behind our house that led to the beach. We'd meander along the shore finding beach glass and seashells. Awesome times!

Favorite MM chipboard piece?

My all time favourite piece of Magistical Memories chipboard is "Spring Fling" - in fact I love it so much that I've been hoarding it for that perfect LO. Maybe I'll get the perfect pic with which to use it with this season!

Favorite color to scrap with?

Blue, blue, blue ... there are so many shades and almost all of them are beautiful. Maybe it's because of my love affair with the ocean ...

What is your most favorite supply and why?

It has to be paper - I love it so much that I keep all my little scraps to use on cards, or eventually, let my daughter play with them. They are kept in ziploc bags and separated by colour, then by solid or print. And ... now you all know how OCD I am!

What is the one technique you love the most?

I love inking the edges of my papers. Such a small step and it makes such a big difference!!!

Hello again from Sunny Singapore , everyone !

Pearl here , back to share with you another layout this time featuring

our Sitting Pretty Bird Frame ( designed by Nicole Lombardo ).

I have used this oval shaped bird frame

instinctively with Paper Trunk's Maybe Baby Hugs paper.

I also layered a Nicole Lombardo canvas swirl ( sprizted with Avocado Maya Mist and then inked)

under the bird frame for additional interest.

8x10 Lovin' ... Inking Lovin'

Hi ... Carrie here. When I first started scrapping in 1999 I always created pages that were 8x10. For the past 3 years the 'norm' for me is to scrapbook in the 12x12 size. This week I went back to my scrappy roots and scrapped a fun 8x10 page. The best thing about this 8x10 page is that I'm in the process of hunting for THE perfect frame to display it in. I didn't include a title to this design because I want it to be just like a regular framed photo displayed in my house .. with the exception that it is actually a scrapbook page. :)

I used two of my favorite Magistical Memories chippies on this design ... the Flower Til Del Swirl, and the Ornamental Corner. To add color to the chipboard pieces, I simply blotted a coordinating color of Colorbok Cat Eye ink to each of the pieces. Blotting ink on my chipboard is my favorite mess free, easy and quick technique I use. The gorgeous bride is my niece ... I took this photo of her in a calm, silent moment before all the official photos started for her.

A different use for a mini book base

I have a million ideas about mini albums I want to create, and I have a lot of naked ones at home that I have collected through the years. In reality, I almost NEVER make one! So I decided I needed to do something about that... I used one of Magistical Memories "all mixed up book" pages on my LO! I love the scalloped border, and it fit perfectly on my page. I just sprayed it with some glimmermist before adhering it.

The cool thing with using a chipboard piece this size on your page is that it gives some extra height and dimension. I am really happy with the result!

Nesting Flowers...

Okay surely I have mentioned to you how much I love scrapping about this grandbaby of ours. Haven't I??? lol. She is 5 weeks old and already has a full scrapbook!

Today I played around with some fantastic patterned paper by Creative Imaginations. And my favorite thing to do with chipboard right now is to leave it simply as is. I love the natural feel it gives. And I love these nesting flowers by Magistical Memories. Toss in an 8x10 photo and some small embellishments...and you have a quick and easy layout.

Finally! Layouts for March Guest Designer....

After what seems to be the most awful month ever, we are finally at the end of March.

I won the position of March Guest Designer and eagerly awaited the parcel of goodies to get creative with....................with the recent earthquake here in Christchurch New Zealand and the deaths of over 200 people everything has been turned upside down and the postal system was left in a real state of chaos................I was lucky enough to finally get the parcel of goodies a week and a half ago and proceeded to get creative..................BUT NO that wasn't going to happen as a close Family Member collapsed near our Hospital last Tuesday with pulmonary embolism (a blood clot that started in her leg) and died early Thursday morning, so our lives have subsequently been thrown into a total state of disarray, while trying to get in contact with other Family members and organise a funeral hence the lack of scrapping.

So I sincerely apologise for the lack of goodies that have been used on the 3 layouts I have for you, but I hope they might just get you a little inspired....

In this Layout I have used a chipboard signpost and love the way it has made the page kinda pop with each sign pointing a different way On this Book cover I have used a chipboard antique frame and a lot of Prima, the door knob is a 7 Gypsies one that I have had for a long time and been waiting for the right project to come along, the page pebble is also a Prima one and I have pulled off the sticker to allow it to be clear to let the year be highlighted.

In this 3rd Layout, I have used the Fence and Trees and Frame that I was sent there is an envelope under the frame for phamplets etc from St David's Cathedral in Wales and an area for information in the left hand corner.

Today I'm here to share a card that I made with Til de swirl I am in LOVE with this beautiful swirl! It is so perfect for everything :-) An accent for under a picture, or as you see here on a card. I can see so many uses for it! I painted it here, but you can spray it with Tattered Angels, or ink it, emboss, the possibilities are endless!

My sweet daughter turns 32 this week so I did this in her honor. It uses the Filigree Fantasy chipboard piece. I added Stickles to it for some sparkle.

I can't believe how quickly time flies! I remember getting my daughter's pictures taken, just like it was yesterday! Happy Birthday, Torri. You've made me a proud mamma ;)

Scalloped circles

I really like using circles on my LO's, and using scalloped circles even more!

In this LO I simply inked my scalloped circles with distress ink before putting them on my page. So simple, but I love the result!

For my design today, I wanted to use this beautiful floral pattern paper by Die Cuts with a View, but I didn't want to mount to photo directly to the floral patter because it would have gotten lost in the pattern. My solution was to use one of the pages of our Layered Antique Book, cover it with a neutral color and place my photo on it. I love how the thickness of the chipboard piece lifts the photo up from the page.

I also used our Flower Swirl chipboard piece as a fun accent in the corner of my page. I clipped the "swirls" off the flower, glued pattern paper behind it, and then adhered it on top of another flower within the pattern of the paper.

Mixed Media Painting with a little chipboard

For the last month I have really enjoyed playing with all kinds of mediums on canvas. As I was painting this two peice the other day...I decided to add some chipboard for a little added texture.

After spraying the chipboard with Smooch Spritz, I used some Helmar Adhesive to attach it to the canvas.

the world of Mixed Media painting is totally open for all types of techniques and embellishments. And no two paintings will ever be exact. I love all the textures and styles that you can put together with these paintings. Give it a try. And add some Magistical Memories Chipboard for that added touch!

I'm popping in to share a few cards that I made. For the 1st one I used the fleur de lis and covered it, sanded the edges and inked. The paper is Crate paper.

And for this tag I used one of my favorite chippies Scallop Lace Border it is so versatile. I just sprayed some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Turquoise. It leave a soft shimmer and is so easy

I Love the Nesting Star!

An all-time favorite chippie of mine is the Nesting Star. This layout uses the large nesting star but I reach for any and all of the sizes so often! I lightly inked the edges of the star before adding the pp behind it. Easy peasey....go check out the stars in the store of you don't have any. They really are a must have!!

The pp and embellies are MME in case anyone is interested.

My take on the March sketch

Today I'd like to share my take on this month's sketch. As you might know already, I'm more of a scrapper than a cardmaker, but I make cards now and then when I need to! This sketch was perfect inspiration to make a card for my dear husband, who's big birthday is coming up!

I made a quick card using the Birds of a Feather chipboard piece. It's kind of symbolic to say "hello" to spring...won't be long and it WILL be here :) I painted the bird with some glitter paint then added Stickles to it's adorable little heart wing. I based the design on this month's sketch, which is a card. We'd love to see your take on a spring card! PS...I hope you all remembered to "spring forward" with your clocks. Otherwise you'll be late today, LOL.

The sun is shining... the snow is melting! It is a good day! :) Hope you are having a good day as well!!
I have a quick card to share with you again this week. A card? Again? I know!! What is wrong with me!!?? LOL!

For this card, I used one of the fabulous frames from MM. This frame come in 2 pieces. I LOVE that! You can find this frame... the Filigree Frame here. I inked the outer piece in brown ink. The inner piece I covered with patterned paper using Helmar Premium Craft glue. I trimmed it using my craft knife and inked the edges. Then I stamped my sentiment on it and it was ready to add to my card! The sentiment is a stamp from myStampBOX... their sentiments are fabulous! Love how it turned out!
Try using some of your chippies to make a card for someone special! I guarantee it will being a smile to their face... and yours!

Scrap a Photo-less Page

From time to time I like to scrap pages that have no photos. I'm all about scrapping all aspects of my life, and sometimes that means I scrap about a topic, a thought, or a feeling, that requires no photo. That is what I've done on this page. I scrapped a favorite Bible verse that means alot to me. This is a 9x9 page and I have it displayed on an easel in my living room right now. In time I'll put it in an album.

I wish I knew the name of the chippie piece I used, but I'm not able to find it on the site ... it is the same piece Sue used in her post on Monday, 3/7. I painted my piece with Creative Imaginations Luminarte and snipped a few pieces from it to fit the corner spot on my page.

I warned you....hehe...lots and lots of baby pages!

For this layout I loved the chipboard bird by Nicole Lombardo and decided to actually cut it in sections and then use those all over the layout. By doing so I was able to "hide" the straight edge of the picture so that the layout looked like a continous circle.

I also loved how the swirls hung off the sides of the paper for added dimension.

It's a card Monday!

I've got a pretty little card for you today. After all, it is Monday and we all should be smiling :) I love this chipboard piece but unfortunately I can't find it on the site. I wish I could tell you what shape it is but it's no where to be found, LOL. (So if any fellow teammates know the name of it, please leave a comment.) I think using Stickles on my chipboard is one of my favorite things to do. I selectively chose where to add the Stickles on this piece. Then I slid the chippie underneath my die cuts (Spellbinders, btw) and adhered it to finish it off. The pp is K&Co.

Distressed Paper over Chipboard!

When I was creating this page, I originally covered my Mod Heart chippie with gingham pattern paper and inked the edges. Because of the vintage background paper I was using, and the ripped corrugated cardboard I was using, my paper covered heart looked out of place and just "not right".

My solution, that fit the feel of the rest of the elements on the page, was to recover the heart with something more rugged. I again traced the heart shape onto the gingham paper and cut it out. Then I crumpled the paper into a little ball ... uncrumpled it ... then distressed it with some lightweight sandpaper. At that point I glued the rugged paper onto the chipboard heart.

Ahhhh, just what I was going for!

Scalloped Chipboard

For today's layout I used the following:

Urban Lily patterned paper

I had a lot of fun with my xacto knife and this layout. All the swirls are cut out by hand and then I covered the chipboard with patterned paper and cut out around the edges. The center hole was punched out with the cropodile. I added a touch of ink on the edges.

I just had to have a go at this chipboard album

with Basic Grey's Hopscotch line.

For the album cover, I simply painted a couple of layers of Chalkboard Mist in Chocolate Mint.

The negative numbers were highlighted with a little Diamond Stickles.

On the inside cover here, I spritzed Maya Road's Antique Patina

and then added coordinating journal die cut & chipboard shapes .

The rest of the chipboard pages of the album I simply covered with patterned paper.

I layered the BG die cuts and chip stickers around the photos for a quick and simple finish to the album.

Hi My Name is Robbi and I'm a Scrapaholic

I love it! and am found everyday in my scrap room creating some project or layout.

I love the journey that special photo takes you on, from choosing the papers,to the flowers, chipboard piece or pieces, Lace, bling and usually metal of some kind the end result is never, however as I first had in my head and scribbled in my plan book but usually comes out somewhere close. I started this journey of preserving our lives in this addictive way after being given a box of photos whose faces I did not know, who were these people, what did they do, how did they live, what were their dreams,hopes, loves and fears, they were just faces, I did not want this for my Grandchildren and generations that follow so hopefully My Children (although they usually have to be conned into letting me take photos) Cherish these pages that tell their stories and share them with their families in the future. My wonderful Husband Trevor and I met at High School when we were 13 and have never been apart we have 3 amazing Children, Christopher 26, Michael 23 and Emma 20, a Beagle named Pippa(who thinks she is human)and 2 cats, Molly and Gus. We have lived in the wonderful town of Dunedin in the South Island of New Zealand for 20 years now and enjoy everything about it, the kids all attended school here and have achieved high honors in sporting achievements as well Chris plays Rugby, Michael has been to Ireland for Soccer.

New Zealand has suffered terrible heartache with the devastating earthquake that struck last Tuesday killing in excess of 240 souls and crippling a wonderful city it just shows appreciate every moment you have with your family and loved ones, friends and get as many photos as you can, as it can all be taken away in a heartbeat.

Do you work outside the home?

Yes I work for a Commercial Electrician as Accounts Manager, But only from 9am till 12pm (so great hours for scrapping, a quick bite when I get home for lunch then scrapping scrapping and more scrapping,) I cant and dont cook so Trevor does that when he gets home while I ........scrap and drink wine!

How long have you been scrapping?

about 7 years

What is your dream job?

Being able to work in the scrapping industry, inspiring people and teaching them how to create a layout that they are proud of and have put themselves into

Do you like chocolate?

Oh Heck YES!!! and my company does all the electricial work for Cadburys so every week
the Boys bring back loads of goodies........I really must learn to say "No" I don't need that!

Tell us about a special childhood memory.

When I was about 10, I went traveling around the South Island selling spray painted polystyrene Christmas signs with my Dad, I had to have 3 months off school while we were traveling, If we sold some we ate like Kings and slept in huts in camping grounds, but if we didn't we ate bread and jam and slept in the car!!! it was the most wonderful time and now that he has past on it is a precious memory I will always carry with me

You will not see any of my layouts that do not have some sort of chipboard embellie
or Flower on it somewhere, they are both so versatile and even on male layouts the flowers look good
Chipboard works on anything and the pieces are so easy to color

What is the one technique you love the most?

Distressing, whether its water or just tearing it adds an element to a layout that
can change the whole look of the page you are creating, along with a little sepia ink
there is nothing better.

A little mini album I did this weekend. I used a Punky sprouts mini album, Echo Park- For the Record, Luminarte H2O paint, glimmer mist, smooch mist, Helmar tape runner, scapdots, zapdots and 450 adhesive, Magistical Memories chipboard, Robins Nest Dew Drops.

The helmar adhesive that I used is PERFECT for clear projects because they dry clear!

See ya, February! I won't miss you one bit, LOL! We've had so much snow and yukky weather that I can't wait to kiss winter good bye!! Let's hope that March comes in like a lamb and stays that way :).

So....back to the reason for this post! I think these Hang Ties are just the cutest things (designed by the mahhhhvelous Amy Teets). I used the middle sized hang tag to put my journaling on and it worked out really well. I inked the edges of the hang tag with some chalk ink to give it some dimension. You get 3 sizes of hang tags in each package, what a value! The most difficult decision I had to make when using these was whether to put the opening at the top or the bottom, LOL.

The photo is of my Dad on his 84th birthday, just this past January. He has been very blessed with grandchildren and even great-grandchildren. In fact, I think there are more great-grandchildren in the picture than grandchildren. I'd like to add that I'm very blessed to have him as my Dad!!

Wearable Chips

When I was playing with my chipboard pieces, I mean organizing them, I noticed that there were a variety of shapes that fell out of the larger outlines. I grouped them all together and then when I was cleaning up from another project, I realized that they would be perfect to make a necklace. I created the following in about 15 minutes from scraps of paper on my table and the "bonus" pieces of chipboard from inside larger frames.
The chain for the necklace is embroidery floss that has been hot glued to the back of the larger shape. In fact, I've hot glued the entire piece together - the patterned papers, the circles and heart to each other, and the string to hold it around my neck. I used a file to soften the edges of patterned paper and then inked them to hide the white edges. Play around with layering and the overall shape of the piece if you decide to make one. This was just my favorite configuration of pieces.

I was so excited about my creation that I wore it to work the very next day. One of my students thought it was part of my shirt and that the necklace was awesome. So, not only was it quick and easy to make, it also passed the cool test with the college students!

I just might have to make a few more of these!

The first time I saw the set of 3 Brad Flowers chipboard , I immediately thought of my childhood and being a girl in the '60's and '70's. The shape of the flowers were EVERYWHERE back then! These flowers were on my bell bottom pants, on shirts, on my lunch box, on notebooks ... just everywhere!

So of course, I just had to design a page using the flowers and a childhood picture of myself. I also added another absolute favorite chippie of mine .. a potty people girl.

So I just have to warn you....you might just see a bunch of baby layouts from me for a while :)

Today I wanted to share with you this layout I made of my husband holding our new grandbaby when she was just an hour old. I really wanted to capture the moment. It was so precious.

I recently got a shipment form an order I placed with this yummy chipboard flower, Mod Leaf Open Flower. There are several flowers which you can pop the center out of and make even more flowers. I grabbed three from the package and used them on this layout. Before I glued them down, I spritzed them real good with some Smootch spritz in white, just to add a touch of a lighter color to the layout.

I've had this shape from 2008

and have waited to use it on the right layout.

When I set eyes on these CHA Winter 2011 release BO Bunny Ad Lib papers,

I knew this Bubble Loop shape could finally be used in a happy way ! ;)

I have used the medium sized shape as a sun here

-cutting a circular piece of patterned paper

and lightly distressing it before adhering it down on the center of the chipboard .

I also used the smallest Bubble Loop shape as a mask, misting in the shape

with new Tattered Angels' Chalkboard Mist in Alaskan Salmon .

Hello there and happy Sunday! I am popping to share a card I made using Nicole Lombardo's Laurel bird...I painted her white and hand stamped script onto her. Love the fading in and out the script gives and the subtle graphic look. I finished it off by inking the edges a bit. I love this birdy! I also used my beloved Helmar glue.....almost out sigh... This is a simple card using a fun technique. I designed this viewfinder chipboard for Magistical Memories. Normally, I would paint first then add a crackle finish. This time I used Helmars Crackle Medium step one and two, then I sprayed with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist. I also used Core'dinations Impressions cardstock with Beloved from Creative Imaginations. I also used The Robins Nest Silver Dew Drops and craft glue to put them on, Helmar's Adhesive Tape Runner and Zapdots and Liquid Scrap Dots to adhere the butterfly.

Decorate Your Space

I'm starting the task of cleaning and organzing my scrap room. Whew, what a big job this is going to be!

I'm more excited about all the fun storage jars, wall hangings and other decor that I'll be finishing the room off with. The thought of my fun decor is what keeps me motivated to do the cleaning and purging first.

I did sit down and make this fun hanger for my room using our Door Hanger chipboard. It was so fun and easy to make ... they are perfect to give as a gift as well!

Sunsets and chipboard

I took this picture last September while at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. It was such a beautiful sunset. My first ever night race and I loved all of it. When I saw this chippie I just knew that I wanted to use it for this layout.

I painted the Magistical Memories chipboard white and then started working some brown over it once the white was almost dry. Then I added some doodling and sticklers.

I also added some bling with some flowers from Recollections...a little bit of Basic Grey rubons and punched butterflies.

Love Definitely! I know Valentine's Day was a couple of days ago but there is just so much to love about Magistical Memories chipboard. When I think of love I think of two people, my mom and dad. My mom has loved my dad since she was a teenager. My parents do everything together and always have. Soon they will enter a new chapter in their lives when my dad retires - I can't wait to see what fun they have together then.

To make my page, I wrapped the Connected by Circles Magistical Memories chipboard in twine and used it as a divider between two sheets of Paper Trunk Maybe Baby patterned paper. I glued pieces of patterned paper behind the twine and then tore them off. Then, I backed all of the twine/chipboard border with green paper. I cut the title from pieces of patterned paper and die cut shapes.

I decided because the page is already busy in places to not add journaling to the front. I have journaled the date, location, and names of my parents on the back of the page.

I used some of the "clouds" pieces, and one of the "Art Deco Stems" pieces. I covered them with paint and before the paint could dry I sprinkled a little bit of glitter on it. The green got only a tiny bit of glitter while I put more on the clouds.

Happy Valentines Day!

Hi all, and happy Valentines Day! I made a quick little card to share with you today. I also wanted to share my take on the February sketch since it's got that adorable heart in it. After all, it IS Valentine's Day.

I used just one chipboard piece on both of these projects. I used the Heartilicious frame on the layout and then I used one of the little hearts from the Heartilicious frame that I cut out, on the card. Now that's truly using all scraps :)

I embossed the larger heart then sprayed Glimmer Mist on it to give it some sheen. On the smaller heart, I painted it pink first then added some orange stickles to it once the paint dried.

I hope your Valentine's Day is filled with wonderful surprises and lots of love. I feel very blessed to have several Valentines.....my husband, my children, my grandchildren etc. I love them all very much so they are definitely all my Valentines.

I've had this picture of my mother sitting on the porch with my boys and me looking through the window behind them for quite some time. I've tried to scrap it several times but could never get the page to look just right. When I saw the wings in my package, I knew just exactly what I wanted to do with them. Of course, I admit, I did not know they were wings and instead I saw the pretty flower shown below.The flower was made using Pink Paislee patterned paper for the inside chipboard and the outline was sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer mist to match. The flower is topped with one of the chipboard butterflies but I wanted the butterfly to appear to be flying so I cut it in half and then used Helmar Scrapdots on the head and along the body to hold it's wings open. The outside of the butterfly is green and the outside wing is missing it's scroll but the inside of the butterfly is purple with a green scroll. I drew in a long stem for the flower and added chipboard leaves that were inked with Versamark chalk ink and then rubbed with chalk to give them a light color and texture. The background is Pink Paislee House of 3 paper that has been lightly misted and chalked. The mix of so many pieces of chipboard adds incredible dimension to the page causing it to become my current favorite.

On the Fence?

One of my favorite chippies is still the fence. It is SO versatile and beautifully elegant! Here is a layout I created using it. The page was done for the Best Creation blog hop.
When using the fence on this page, I trimmed off the bottom half ot it. I wanted it only half the height, so a pair of scissors did the trick!
I also painted it with brown paint. Once that was dry I did a dry brush "white wash" using a foam brush and white paint. This gave it that aged fence look I was looking for.

Have you gotten the fence yet? If not, don't sit on the fence any longer(har har har... ;) )... get over to the shop, order it and put it to use! You'll be glad you did!!

Need a Mojo Boost?

This week I was in the need for some mojo boosting. I've been down sick for 10 1/2 days and I think my mojo went into hiding at the same time. My solution? To go through our Magistical Memories beautiful gallery of course. I literally spent over 2 hours soaking in all the amazing work from all the members who posted their work in the galleries. Wow!!!!

I want to share one of my favorite layouts I was inspired by.

This layout, titled 'Stunning Sunrise', created by byondbzr / Rebecca Price blew me away!!!

I still love banners!

I don't know how the rest of the scrapping world feels about banners now, but I am still CRAZY about them!

I made one for my daughter's second birthday, just like I did for my oldest daughter. It's now hanging above her bed, and she loves it! I used a few Magistical Memories chippies for this.

On this one I used the gorgeous butterfly, I just sprayed it with some glimmer mist.

For the second one I used one of my fav's; a potty person. I covered it with stickles.

For the next one I also used stickles, covering the chunky heart.

And for this last one, I cut out the butterfly from the butterfly book, covering it with glimmermist.

Just for You Card

I was working on some genealogy stuff over the weekend and remembered that I had this cute Magistical Memories tree which always reminded me of a family tree. I pulled out some scrap paper that I had and began to work on a card for a friend of mine. I used some Tim Holtz ink (in a bottle) and stained the chipboard. I then adhered it down and filled the hearts in with Sticklers. Using a stamp from the My Stamp Box set called Mention...I made the little strip and then adhered it with Helmar Zapdots. To finish it off I doodled around the edges.

I also decided to use this months layout sketch for my base for this card. That is what I love so much about sketches....you can really adapt them for anything when the inspiration hits ;)

Mine is now that I've got some scrummy new CHA Winter 2011 goodies in my hands ! ;)

Nevertheless, I have a layout to share today that uses up some happy old stash.

I've hoarded these Magistical Memories' Sassy Sunflowers from 2008 ,

waiting for the right layout to use them on .

I covered the medium sized Sunflower with yellow coordinating paper

as the rest of my layout ( using Rose Moka papers )

and layered it over the larger Sunflower piece using Helmar's Zapdots for dimension .

Valentine's Day...

is almost here! Are you ready? Here's a cute card I made for my special someone. ;)

I used the following pieces:

* One of the "Birds" pieces.

* One of the hearts from "Nesting Heart".

On the heart, I simply sprayed some glimmer mist. But on the bird, I played around a little. I added a couple shades of pink paint. Then I tried the Crackle Medium from Helmar on top.

I really like the way it turned out.

Hope you are able to do something special with a special someone this Valentine's Day! Why not make a card for him too? :)

A tribute to Mom

I love my Mom! She is the best person I know and I wish I were more like her. I came across this photo of her and wanted to do something special to honor her. I'm so thankful and blessed that I can still pick up the phone and hear her voice!

The Nesting Heart from Magistical Memories seems to be a popular piece as of late. I used one of the middle "nesters" for this particular project.

I love using Stickles on my chipboard pieces! I chose "diamond" Stickles because I didn't want added color, just sparkle. I used that on my chipboard heart and also on some of the flowers to bling them up. I love the dimension that chipboard gives to my layouts, especially when using pop dots for added pizazz.

The pp and flowers I purchased at Michaels and the punch used is a Martha Stewart punch, also purchased at Michaels.

Helloooooo from a VERY HOT New Zealand!

The last few days it's been a little bit too hot, and humidity has been between 80-100% here in Auckland. Good thing we have a paddle pool for the kids (and the BIG KIDS TOO) to cool down! Here's a LO with a photo of my youngest enjoying the nice, cool water!

I have just inked the wonderful "swirling good time" with Magenta from Versacolor, and that just sort of made the page. I just love how it came out!

Snow's A Ball

and so is Magistical Memories chipboard. Yesterday my package came in the mail and I couldn't wait to get break into it. Thank you to Magistical Memories for sending me so much fun stuff to play with. I sat down right away and made this page using the Fleur de Circle shape in the center of a doily snowflake.

I changed the color of the Fleur de Circle by spraying it with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and Chalkboard Spray. It made the chipboard really sparkly like snow! I then stamped a snowflake in the middle using a Bo Bunny stamp and embossing powder. The white dots are Tim Holtz Perfect Pearls paint. Here's a close up of how the Fleur de Circle turned out.
I have to say that I really love it. It feels wintry and beautiful at the same time - a sentiment that I'm not used to experiencing! I hope that it's beautiful where you are and that you take time to enjoy the last bits of winter before spring is upon us.

That's all I have fore now. I've already started on my second project for this month. This is going to be a fun month!

Be Mine

For chipboard I used the mini film strip border! LOVE this piece and have been hoarding it waiting for the perfect page!
i used a black ink pad to add some color to the film strip. I lift it slightly uncovered to give it a bit of a distressed look. I matted the photo's on white cardstock and added the cbipboard over top. To adhere the chipboard, I sprayed it with Helmar V2 Vellum Adhesive. Worked great to cover the back well without getting glue in the holes.
Here's a few more detailed shots of the pleats and heart... I'm having a blast lately with my sewing machine! :)

Dress Them Up

I've gotta admit, I love using plain, naked chipboard on my pages, but I also love to dress them up in all kinds of ways. On my page today I dressed up the Scallop Border chippie with a beautiful flowerly Basic Grey rub-on. With all the thousands of rub-ons on the market right now, the possibilities are endless. I also dressed up my Nesting Heart chippies with grey felt and fun ribbon. Mmmm....chipboard and felt...love that combo!! Click on the images to see larger.

I hope my design today inspires you to grab that big stash of rub-ons you have, run out to the craft store for some inexpensive sheets of beautiful felt, grab your chipboard pieces, and start playing! This pages was a blast for me!! ~Carrie~

Fab February

Hope everyone has had a great start to February...well...with the exception of the snow storm that hit earlier this week. How about a little sunshine, rainbows and happiness to make your day brighter :)

This has to be the cutest mini album ever. It was so fun to work with and I actually was thinking of layouts that I could of used the big clouds for while I was putting this together. This is the Magistical Memories Staralicious minibook. I painted the clouds white and while the paint was still wet I sprinkled lots of ClearSnaps white glitter....yes...still using that yummy glitter. Then I covered the rainbow part of the book with Paper Trunk patterned paper. I was going to make this a traditional rainbow in color but halfway thru I decided to change things up a bit and I am glad I did. Once everything was dry I went over all the edges with a Sharpie black marker for a whimsical feel.

I used ClearSnaps Smooch Spritz on the swirly part of the mini book. This close up will show you how it glitters. I love that stuff. I then inked all the edges. Added some chipboard letters. Cut out flowers from left over Paper Trunk paper. Added some bling. And now I have a super cute mini album just waiting for this years summer pictures.

Anyone up for some Hopscotch?

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a fabulous and fun-filled day so far. :) Can you believe that it is already February? That just seems crazy to me. Today I am sharing an album with you. It uses the awesome Hop Scotch Book, designed by Amy Teets. I thought it was adorable, and just perfect for a summer album.

The top pieces are sprayed with green ink. The rest of the chipboard pieces in the album I just covered with patterned paper.

It's a relatively simple album. I just layered die cuts and stickers around the photos.

We would LOVE to see what others have done with this album! Just link it up so we can check it out! We may even feature it on the blog! ;)

My name is Rachel Theall and I live in Missouri with my husband, two
energetic little boys (6 and 3 years old), and three very old dogs in
a very hold house overlooking the Mississippi River. I've been
crafting my whole life and still have some of the supplies I used to
craft as a child - mostly embroidery floss for friendship bracelets
and every Crayola I've ever owned. I've been scrapbooking since 1998
and long ago ran out of room to store all of the pages I've ever made.
I've also been knitting and running for a year. I will run my first
half marathon in April in St. Louis - if you see me out there be sure
to say, "Hi!" Many thanks to Magistical Memories for allowing me the
opportunity to be this month's guest designer. I'm looking forward to
it!

Here's a few things we asked Rachel and here's what she had to say!!!

What inspires you?
I am inspired by color combination. I subscribe to a number of color
and design blogs that fill me daily with more ideas than I know what
to do with.

Do you work outside the home?
In my non-crafting time, I'm a chemistry professor specializing in
chemistry education at all grade levels - I teach those who are
already science teachers or whom would like to become a science or
chemistry teacher. Part of my work also involves inspiring children,
especially girls, into careers in science.

How long have you been scrapping?
13 years - it all started with a bunch of circles, triangles, white
paged albums, markers, and deco scissors!

What is your dream job?
I have my dream job - getting this job was a dream come true. I
almost had to pinch myself.

Do you like chocolate?
Do these M&Ms I'm eating right now count? (hee,hee, that would be a yes!)

Tell us about a special childhood memory.
Most of my childhood memories revolve around Thanksgiving. I love the
Macy's Parade and I remember watching it every year at my grandma and
grandpa's house. My husband took me to see the parade in person the
year before we got married.

Favorite MM chipboard piece?
Well, my favorites are pieces I've never been able to bring myself to
use. I like the bugs - all of them. I guess I did finally use some
of my dragon flies on the page for the contest for the guest spot.

Favorite color to scrap with?
green.
no, wait, teal
or maybe yellow...red...orange.... I do like color.

What is your most favorite supply and why?
I'm going to have to say patterned paper because I think I can do just
about anything with paper.

What is the one technique you love the most?
altering paper with paint, ink, or mist.

A fun little card

I've had fun making cards recently and I thought I'd share one. The pp is K&Co. and the chipboard piece is Magistical Memories (it's the Ornamental Corner). I inked the chippie with Platinum Brilliance pigment ink then sprayed it with some vanilla shimmer Smooch Spritz. Using Spellbinders nesting dies, I used the negative piece as my background. Behind it I used a Sizzix embossing die to embellish a white piece of cardstock. I then gently ran the platinum ink over the raised part so it would stand out. To pop up the chipboard piece, I used Helmar zap dots. Love the dimension that the zap dots give! The inside of the card is also embellished. I used a couple of stamps from My Stamp Box for this birthday wish.

Hello there! Here to share a little greeting card using a Nicole Lombardo's design...flower scroll. I again with this project only used a portion of the design...love to get more than one use out of something. Waste not want not...right?? This time I left the chipboard naked.....I just lightly inked the edges for depth. I LOVE the natural look of this...I think it works well with the the bird image and colors of the card. Reminds me of a vintage botanical script. Well hope you enjoy! Thanks for peeking! Cherry

Nearing the end!

Just a couple more days of my Guest Design spot here at Magistical Memories. I've enjoyed using this wonderful product. All of the chipboard is so easy to use and you can do anything with it. You can paint it, ink it, cover it, spray it, or just leave it bare. It's a very versatile product and will add the finishing touches to any project. And of course it adds dimension, and I like lots of dimension and texture in my work.

With this heart frame, I just dabbed a Tim Holtz distress ink pad along it and even though you can't see it really well in these pictures, it sort of left it a mottled look. I like it. And then of course, I just added my pics, a touch of lace and a few flowers, and you have your finished product. Thanks for taking time to stop by MM today, Darlene

Scrap easel

Last Monday it was my boss' birthday. I really like her, and decided to make her something special. It's kinda hard though I feel, making a scrappy gift for someone who is not "in" that kind of world if you know what I mean? I got out one of the fantastic scrap easels and created away. Hello all!!
Today I have a really simple page to share with you. On it I used some beautiful PAPER TRUNK paper from the Rockabilly line! It's so fun to work with! I also have the entire page held together with the Helmar Premium Craft glue! The rikrak is held down using the Helmar 450 quick dry... fabulous for ribbon and such!
For chippies on this page, I have used Amy Teets scalloped border! I covered the top half of it with the striped paper, and inked the bottom half in black ink. Then I topped the page off with a heart from the nested hearts!

Sleep my little one...

I have seriously had a blast playing with all these Magistical Memories chipboard pieces. But this one...this one I had a hard time letting go of. I have been hording this one for a while now and just didn't want to use it. It was a favorite that is for sure.

As I was working on this layout of my grandbabies new crib set up (she is coming in February)...I decided this would be the perfect layout to use my bird chipboard.

It didn't let me down! I LOVE how this turned out.

I painted the chipboard black and then added rhinestones and flowers. Later on I felt the layout still needed something so I cut out another limb using some dark brown felt and added that to the top portion of the layout with some more flowers and rhinestones.

I'm comin' at you a bit late, I know, sorry. The day just got away from me! Ok, so sometimes you just need to make an easy, simple card....right? Well today I've got a quick one for you. :)

I used one of the Art Deco Stems. I simply covered it with patterned paper that coordinated with the rest of the card. This card took no more then ten minutes! I love that!

January Sketch

It's nearing the end of the month (can you believe it, only one week left in January!) but you still have time to enter for your chance to be April's guest designer. The sketch is so stinkin' cute, why wouldn't you want to enter??!! It's so easy, just upload your take on the January sketch and you're entered. Don't wait too long though :)

Here's my take on the sketch for this month. I used LYB products along with a nesting heart chippie and the cloud chippies (designed by Amy Teets) from Magistical Memories. First I painted the clouds with a Ranger paint dauber (color is pool) then I sprayed it with some Smooch Spritz (vanilla shimmer I think) to give them some sparkle. I also sprayed the small nesting heart with that same Smooch color.

The stamps were generously given to us by one of our sponsors, My Stamp Box, and the I "heart" U came from them. I love how they provide storage for the stamps in that awesome plastic case!! Thank you, My Stamp Box!!

Tie A Yellow Ribbon 'Round The Old Oak Tree!!

There's a song from my younger days!! And now-a-days I'm sure there are lots of soldiers wives, girlfriends, families singing it, making it their theme song.

I've been wanting to do this little card for a while now. I don't have someone away at war that I'm gonna send it off too, but I did have this little tree embellishment that I've been wanting to use. I ordered it online and when it came the trunk had snapped in two pieces and it couldn't be used. So the company replaced it and I've been holding onto this trying to come up with a way to make use of it. So, the tied ribbon hides the break perfectly and I thought it would make for a pretty cute card. Along with the Magisitical Memories bracket frame that I painted creamy yellow and a couple clouds, love how it turned out.

Chipboard Supports Journaling Topic

For some of my layouts, its all about the journaling, and adding appropriate embellishments to support the topic of my journaling is something I try to do often.
